CogniHoney Side Effects: What Each Ingredient Can Cause

Quick answer

No study tested CogniHoney, so its side effects are unknown. For the named ingredients, the reported ones are stomach upset, dizziness, headache, bleeding risk with ginkgo and rare liver injury with green tea extract. Stop and call a clinician if something feels wrong.

What are the side effects of CogniHoney?

Unknown for the product itself, because no safety study of it exists in our materials.

What we can offer is a read of the 11 named lines. A few of them have documented effects at tested amounts. We do not know how much of each sits in a capsule, so a known effect at 300 mg of an extract does not tell you what two CogniHoney capsules do.

Supplements do not need FDA approval before sale, and side effects are likeliest at high doses or when many are combined (NIH ODS, What You Need to Know).

Which named ingredients have known effects?

Five lines stand out; the rest have little to report.

Reported effects of named ingredients
IngredientReported effects
Bacopa monnieriStomach upset, more stools, nausea, cramps; mild sedation
Ginkgo bilobaDizziness, stomach problems, headache; bleeding risk with anticoagulants
Green tea extractRare liver injury; nausea, constipation, higher blood pressure
AGP cholineFishy odor, sweating, vomiting at high intakes; stroke association in a cohort
Vitamin B6Nerve damage with long-term excess

Sources: bacopa (StatPearls, Bacopa monnieri), ginkgo (NCCIH, Ginkgo), green tea (NCCIH, Green Tea).

How serious are the liver and stroke flags?

Uncommon, but serious enough to name.

LiverTox calls green tea extract a well-established cause of clinically apparent liver injury, usually 1 to 6 months after starting; most people recover on stopping, though fatal failure has occurred (NIH LiverTox, Green Tea). Cassia cinnamon carries coumarin, which has been linked to liver problems in sensitive people (NCCIH, Cinnamon).

The alpha-GPC stroke link comes from one Korean cohort and is observational. We do not know that CogniHoney causes it, and we do not know it does not.

What should you watch for in the first weeks?

Watch your stomach, your head and your skin, and keep a short note.

  • Nausea, cramps or loose stools: pause and ask a pharmacist.
  • Dizziness, headache or unusual bruising: call your clinician.
  • Yellow eyes or skin, dark urine, strong tiredness: seek care the same day.

Sudden face drooping, arm weakness, trouble speaking or vision loss need 911 (CDC, Stroke Signs and Symptoms). See the side effects page for the full list.

How do you report a bad reaction?

Tell the prescriber first, then report it to FDA MedWatch.

MedWatch takes reports from health professionals and consumers, and dietary supplements are among the products it covers (FDA MedWatch). Keep the bottle, the lot code if one is printed, and the date you started.

If you decide a first bottle is worth a try despite these notes, packs of one to six bottles are listed below.
